Peter Singer is an Australian philosopher who is best known for his book Animal Liberation.

  • Singer advocates the killing of certain newborn infants at the discretion of their parents.
  • The conditions he has explicitly named as sufficient justification for active infanticide include Down syndrome, spina bifida, and hemophilia. [1]

Newsweek wrote:

The modern animal rights movement may be dated to the 1975 publication of Animal Liberation by Australian philosopher Peter Singer. [2]
