National Secular Society

The National Secular Society is a British campaign group that seeks to end the influence of organised religion in British public life. It seeks to:
- end 'privileged' religious input to policy and law making
- keep public services free from religious control
- abolish the established church and remove its political and legal privileges
- bring publically-funded religious schools under local authority conrol and open them to all
- abolish blasphemy laws[1]
The National Secular Society was founded in 1866 by the radical Charles Bradlaugh.
