A civil union is a legally recognized form of same sex marriage, currently performed in the states of Connecticut and Vermont, as well as some foreign countries. Criticts say that there should be no 'seperate but equal' status when it comes to marriage. Opponents of same sex marriage say there is no difference.[1]
