The Simpsons

The Simpsons is a satirical animated comedy series created by Matt Groening. The Simpsons started on the The Tracey Ullman show in 1987. In December 1989 the show debuted on the Fox Network. The show is currently being made into a feature length movie to be released on July 27th 2007.

Family: The show revolves around the fictional Simpsons family. Homer is the father who is often portayed as a buffoon. Marge, the mother, who is in many respects a classical American mother, stays at home while Homer works and she takes care of the family. On a few occasions Marge has gotten a job which was met with horrible results, demonstrating that housewives are inferior to independant women. Bart, the son, is a troublemaker, underachiever and makes a horrible role model. Lisa is the older daughter who is a Buddhist liberal. Like most liberals, she is smart, caring, and holds no racist attitudes. Her appearances on the show often perpetuate many liberal ideas. She speaks out against corporate corruption, animal abuse, and racism. Her mission in life is to eradicate the conservative ideals of lying, white power, discrimination, and a hatred of the poor.
