Saskatoon is the largest city in the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan. The population in 2006 was 202,340 (up 2.8% from 2001) [1] The name Saskatoon comes from the Cree inanimate noun "misâskwatômina," which refers to a sweet, violet-colored berry that grows in the area. Former Canadian Prime Minister, John Diefenbaker was elected from Saskatoon.
