Kathleen Sebelius (born 1948) is the governor of Kansas, and the chairwoman of the Democratic Governors' Association. She is a Democrat currently serving a second term, winning re-election in 2006 by a surprisingly large margin (Surprising due to the fact that Kansas is a very conservative state) over Republican challenger Jim Barnett. Her name comes up occasionally as a possible running mate to a 2008 Democratic presidential nominee.
Sebelius has been notable for opposing concealed carry laws [1] and for opposing restrictions on abortion. [2]
