Blue state

Blue state refers to states in the USA where a majority votes for Democrats in Presidential elections. They generally have progressive views on taxation, regulation of business, human rights, homosexuality^{[Citation Needed]}, abortion^{[Citation Needed]}, and crime^{[Citation Needed]}.

Blue States include the two most economically significant states, California and New York. They have a higher per-capita income and a higher level of post-secondary education.
