The Pope (from Latin "papa", father) is the head of the Catholic church. Today the pope is Pope Benedict XVI.
Popes can also be found in the Discordian Society, which makes all novices Popes upon their initiation, bestowing upon them moral infallability, the ability to write new Holy Doctrine, and the right to excommunicate other Discordians, which they usually do immediately.
