"Capital" consists of money or other assets that can be exchanged for goods or services. It is the basis for capitalism.

The term "capital" has a specialized meaning in accounting, and a broader meaning in economics.

In accounting, "capital" the net worth or stockholders' equity in a company.

In economics, "capital goods" includes anything used to produce googds, including machines, tools and factories.
