Christian Identity

Christian Identity refers to a system of theology which is popular among some white supremacist groups. It asserts that the "Aryan", or white, people are the Israel of the Bible, and that the Jews are not. Identity's doctrines are rejected by almost all mainstream Christians as a heresy.

There are several different versions of Identity. Some of them assert that Jews are literally the offspring of Satan and that while Adam and Eve were white people created in the image of God, non-white people were created earlier (so-called "Two-Seed" doctrine of Identity). This version of Identity generally asserts that salvation is only available to white people.

Groups adhering to Identity doctrine have included, Aryan Nations, the Posse Comitatus, some Ku Klux Klan groups, and a scattering of small independent churches such as the "LaPorte Church of Christ" led by Peter J. Peters.
