The last sentence in the first paragraph is obviously an opinion, and should either be deleted or moved into a debate page. Rousseau's Social Contract didn't require direct democracy, and even declared such a government impossible over large territories. Rousseau also did not believe in equality of the sexes, believing men to be superior to women. --WOVcenter 21:43, 11 March 2007 (EDT)
