Botswana

Botswana is a nation of southern Africa bounded by South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe; it is disputed whether Botswana shares a border with Zambia. It has an area of 224,468 square miles (581,370 sq km) and a population of 1.82 million (2007 est). The capital city is Gaberone.
Botswana was formerly the United Kingdom protectorate of Bechuanaland; it was renamed Botswana on independence in 1966. Since then it has enjoyed uninterrupted peaceful and democratic government.
