The Marshall Plan was a program of economic aid by the United States to European countries after World War II. The chief objective of the Marshall Plan was to strengthen the economies of war-torn countries so that they would not be vulnerable to Communist Revolutions.

With the Marshall Plan the years 1948 to 1952 saw the fastest period of growth in European history, returning many of the devastated Allied and Axis countries to stability.
