Operation Paperclip

Project Paperclip was a joint U.S./Soviet plan to rescue top German scientist from defeated Nazi Germany. Many of these scientists, such as Dr. Wernher von Braun, went on to help with the American and Russian space programs. Many Americans felt that Nazi scientists, several of whom worked in concentration camps, were rewarded with a new life in the United States.
