Al Gore

Albert Gore was the Vice President of the United States (1993-2001). He also ran for the Presidency in 2000, losing narrowly to George W. Bush. He now is famous for giving lectures promoting a response at the civic and governmental levels to global warming. Some of these lectures were turned into the documentary An Inconvenient Truth, for which Gore won the 2007 Oscar for Best Documentary [1]. He has said that he does not plan to run for President in 2008 at this point.
