Fiscal Policy is the federal government's decisions about the amount of money it spends and collects in taxes to achieve full employment and non-inflationary economy.
Fiscal policies are largely based on the theories of British economist John Maynard Keynes. Also known as Keynesian economics, this theory states that governments can influence productivity by increasing or decreasing tax levels and public spending. Laissez faire is an earlier economic theory that is opposed to any government intervention in business affairs.
