Scorpion

Scorpions are very similar to spiders, but are generally considered to have been created separately during Genesis due to some key features, such as their pincers and venomous tail. Before the Fall the tail would not have been venomous, but would likely have served some useful function, such as containing digestive juices for use on various fruits.
Scorpions in the Bible
Scorpions appear twice in the Sacred Bible:
- Revelations 9:5 - And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
- Luke 11:12 - Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
