The Kingdom of Bahrain (commonly called Bahrain) is an island nation in the Persian Gulf, which is a constitutional monarchy. The capital of Bahrain is Manama, where king Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa resides. The current Prime Minister is Khalifah ibn Sulman Al Khalifah.
The majority of people in Bahrain are Sunni Muslims, however, there is a small but vocal minority of Shi'a Muslims who have demanded more political reforms.
The nation has turned to banking as a means of revenue due to declining oil reserves. [1]
