Authoritarianism is an ideology that affirms that individual rights and liberties do not matter and that the decisions of how society should be run should be left to a single dictator or a small group of elites whether corporate (right-wing authoritarianism) or government (left-wing authoritarinism). Authoritarianism has been responsible millions of deaths whether in the form of fascism, communism, or religious fundamentalism. The worst authoritarians today include the right wing authoritarians of Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and the left wing authoritarians of North Korea and Zimbabwe.
