Age of Pericles

Lasting from 461 to 429 BC, this period of Greek history was galvanized by the orator Pericles, who strengthened Athenian democracy. This period is known as Greece's "Golden Age," during which the Delian League formed to oppose Persia and Greek culture flourished.
