Impanation

Impanation is one of many Protestant theories which denies transubstantiation of the Eucharist while holding that some indefinable presence of Christ coexists with the bread and wine. A disciple of Martin Luther, Osiander (1498-1552), originally taught impanation as part of the Reformation.
