Derry

Derry is one of six counties in Northern Ireland. The count city is Count Derry.
Derry is reputed to have been founded by St. Columba in 546. The town was named Derry (from the Gaelic for 'oak grove'). In 1613 the area was awarded to the city of London and renamed Londonderry. In 1689 it was beseiged by James II for 105 days before being relieved.
