Alien

An alien is a person who is of another family, race, or nation than the people among whom he or she lives.
In the Bible, Abraham was an alien among the Hittites in the land of Canaan. The Hittites showed him kindness, as the Bible time and again indicates natives of a country are expected to treat aliens. In return, aliens were expected to follow the same laws observed by natives of the country.
