Eukaryotic cell

A cell with a clearly defined nucleus and other structured subcellular components such as organelles. [1] All plants, animals, fungi, and single cell protists are composed of eukaryotic cells, and are collectively called eukaryotes.[2] Compared to organisms lacking a nucleus (prokaryotes), eukaryotic genomes are far more complex structurally, contain multiple chromosomes, and are subject to a greater level of gene regulation. [3]
