The Saltire is the name of the flag of Scotland: a white cross of St Andrew on a dark blue ground. The Saltire is proudly flown by all Scots; however, the Scottish Royal Standard is also displayed, even by republicans, at sporting events, wherever its red and gold colours make a stirring sight.
