Peterlee

Peterlee is a new town in County Durham, north-east England, designated in 1948 under the New Towns Act 1946, and named after the Durham miners' leader Peter Lee (1864-1935). It is located close to the North Sea coast adjacent to the mining villages of Horden and Easington, and was intended to provide better-quality housing for coal miners.
