Inalienable rights

Inalienable rights are basic rights that can neither be taken away from someone nor can any person give them away, such as the right to life.
The Declaration of Independence describes inalienable (misspelled as unalienable) rights as the foundation for society, and if a sovereign (i.e., king) deprives those rights then the people may declare their independence.
