Cramming is a practice in which customers are billed for enhanced telecommunications features such as voice mail, caller-ID and call-waiting that they have not ordered.
Educational Context
Cramming within an educational context refers to the practice of studying heavily directly prior to an exam or assessment. Cramming is often considered a useful technique for pure factual recall. Cramming does not typically, however, enhance the student's ability to use the information in a less than explicitly taught manner. Cramming is not considered a beneficial technique for long term mastery of the material. [1]
