Collagen

Collagen is any of a class of extracellular enzymes abundant in higher animals, forming strong insoluble fibers and serving as connective tissue between cells, yielding gelatin when denatured by boiling. Other forms of collagen can be synthetically derived or created by boiling green sea algae. It is widely used in cosmetic surgery, and in gel electrophoresis.
