Jean Astruc

Jean Astruc was a French physician and professor of medicine in Paris, noted in claiming to have discovered that the book of Genesis consists of two different sources one in which the word Lord or "Jehovah" is used, and another source in which "Elohim" meaning God is used, and who by this suppossed discovery founded the modern school called of the Higher Criticism (1681-1766).[1]
