Saccharomyces pastorianus

A member of the Saccharomyces family of yeasts, Saccharomyces pastorianus is thought to be a hybrid of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces bayanus.

The principle industrial application is in the brewing of lager beer.
