Giuseppi Verdi (1813-1901) was an Italian composer, best known for his prolific output of operas, though he is also celebrated for his Requiem (1874). His operas include Rigoletto (1851), Il Trovatore (1852), La Traviata (1853), Un Ballo in Maschera (1859), and Aida (1871).
