Decomposers

Decomposers are organisms that break down the dead remains of other organisms[1] as part of the natural process of decomposition. They include such organisms as microbes, fungi, and animals that consume carrion. Their role in the decomposition process, accordingly, might be on the larger scale right down to the microscopic.
