Arnhem

Arnhem is a city in the Dutch province of Gelderland, lying on the north bank of the Neder Rijn (Lower Rhine) river. It was the scene of a major battle during Operation Market Garden in September 1944, when British and allied paratroop forces captured its strategic road bridge before being overwhelmed by German forces in the area.
