Talk pollution

Talk pollution is non-substantive, meaningless talk which has an effect of distracting others from the substantive issues. It may include last wordism. It is often rude or insulting.

The 90/10 rule is a simple, effective means of combating talk pollution.

Ironically, some perpetrators of talk pollution are environmentalists.
