Leone Battista Alberti (1404 – 1472) was an Italian humanist, author, artist, architect, poet, linguist, philosopher, and cryptographer. He is considered the Renaissance ideal.

Leon Battista Alberti regarded mathematics as the common ground of art and the sciences.
