Samuel Taylor Coleridge (21 October, 1772 - 25 July, 1834) was an English lyrical poet, philosopher, and critic, whose Lyrical Ballads, written in 1798 with William Wordsworth, has been credited with starting the English Romantic movement. He is probably best known, however, for his poems The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kublai Khan.
