Peter Jackson is a New Zealand born director best known for his films The Lord of the Rings trilogy and upcoming move The Hobbit.

Early Life

Peter Jackson was born in near Wellington, New Zealand on Halloween 1961. His parents gave him a 8mm Camera for his 1969 Christmas and started his ambition to be a director[1]. His first movies were all stop-motion with his friends and himself spending hours making scenes and editing until late.

First Films

In 1987 Peter Jackson made his first full length movie titled Bad Taste. Made on a meager budget, Bad Taste tells the story of a small New Zealand community which has been invaded by aliens. What followed started Peter Jackson's early style of flim which he would he would follow up with Brain Dead in 1992[2]. Shot with humour and gore, both films did well and cemented his career as a movie director.
