The World Wide Web is a distributed system of hyperlinked documents accessible via the Internet. Users access webservers via a web browser client. The WWW was invented by Tim Berners-Lee.
Documents on the WWW are uniquely identified by a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). URLs are used to allow users to browse from one website to another.
