Elector

A presidential elector for the United States of America is a member of the group of individuals which elects the President and Vice President of the United States of America [1]. The current procedure for the appointment and voting of the USA presidential electors is outlined in Amendment Twelve of the Constitution for the United States of America[2] and in Title 3 of the United States Code[3].
Elector was also the title of the ruler of a number of German states in the Holy Roman Empire. Brandenburg was an electorate, as was Hanover; an Elector of Hanover became King George I of Great Britain in 1707.
