Rhenish republic

The Rhenish Republic was proclaimed at Aachen in October 1923 during the Occupation of the Ruhr by troops from Belgium and France between January 1923 and 1925. It comprised three territories, named North, South and Ruhr, with regional capitals respectively in Aachen, Koblenz and Essen.
