"Hardcore" or "hXc" started as an underground form of punk in the early 80s and began to gain popularity in the mid 80s. Featuring lightning fast lyrics and guitar riffs, and heavy drums. Bands such as: Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, and Die Kreuzen are considered "Hardcore".
