Whitewash

Whitewash is a lime-based liquid used for coating the exterior of buildings.
The term is also used as a metaphor for a report or study which, in blatant contradiction of the facts, exonerates a person, persons or organisation from charges of wrongdoing. Whitewashing is a tactic frequently used by Liberals.
