2) Christopher Columbus was an inspiration in many ways, he was a devout christian and by the christian faith was inspired to change the world. His determination to succeed was incredible and shows just how courageous he really was.
3) I think one of the main reasons for the early settlements failing is because they were very disorganized and in such shock to the harsh climate change.
4) When the Pilgrims and Puritans settled in Massachusetts they were not happy with the direction the church of England was headed. Both felt as if it was becoming to close to the Catholic religion. Therefore the Pilgrims separated themselves completely from the church with hopes to have more freedom of religion, while the puritans stayed within the church to purify it.
5) William Penn was truly a remarkable person. He stood up for his own belief by going against the English Law, and was arrested for doing so. Later on he was granted what is today Pennsylvania which he based off of one principle only: religious freedom for all.

H2) The Massachusetts Bay company was established in 1629 by a Royal Charter. It sent a larger group of puritans over to settle in New England with intentions to purify the Church of England with a better community then the one outside of the church itself. The company was managed by a man named John Winthrop who was in charge of leading and financing the group, he was a very capable man who had recently been trained at Oxford.
H3) Mercantilism is a trading system where raw goods were sent from the colonies to England or France. They were then completed in factories and the finished goods were sold for gold.
