The term Host has a number of meanings:
In sociological terms, a host is a person who receives or entertains guests at home or elsewhere. The term is frequently used to describe a master of ceremonies, moderator, or interviewer for a television or radio program.
The term can also be used in biology to describe the organism in which a parasite lives.
It can also be used in computing, where it generally is used to denote a single computer on a computer network.
In religion, the term can describe the consecrated bread in the Eucharist.
