French toast is bread fried in an egg mixture, commonly eaten with syrup or powdered sugar. Milk, various spices such as cinnamon, and even icecream, are sometimes added to improve or change taste.

In spite of the name, it is unsure whether it was the French or other Europeans that invented the mixture. [1]
