Follower

A follower is someone or something that follows. It may apply to following in time or space, but also in political or religious beliefs, ideas or views.

The term may sometimes be used in a disparaging way to suggest that someone is unoriginal or lacking in independent thought and copies or imitates another.

In British English (old-fashioned), the term follower might be applied to the boyfriend or suitor of a young woman, often in domestic service.
