The Continuation War is the name given to the war between the Soviet Union and Finland in the period 1941-44, when in alliance with Germany Finland sought to reverse its losses in the Winter War of 1939-40.
As part of the 1944 armistice, Finland had to remove the German troops in its territory. This led to the brief Lapland War between Finland and its former ally.
