Saint Helena, also known as Helena of Constantinople, Helen, Elena (c. 248 AD - c. 328 AD) was the mother of the emperor Constantine I the Great and is reputed as the discoverer of Christ's cross.
The Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches consider her as a saint. In Orthodox Church Saint Helena and Saint Constantine the Great are honored as Equals to the Apostles. Their feast day is celebrated on May 21.
