According to gay rights activists, the Nazis targeted homosexuals during the holocaust. While estimates homosexuality among men hover around 2% (scientists) or 10% (advocates), the percentage of homosexual concentration camp internees marked with the "pink triangle" was only 0.1%.

One source the activists cite as evidence of targeting is the National Holocaust Museum:

  • Many other groups were targets of persecution and even murder under the Nazis’ ideology, including Germans with mental and physical disabilities, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Roma ("Gypsies"), Poles, and Soviet prisoners of war. [1]
